Document your life π₯
HiΒ Reader,
We click a bunch of photos every day, only to never look back at it again (except when it’s time to clean up for that extra gigabyte of storage).
So, does that mean there is no point in clicking photos? I don’t think so “Even if you click a bunch of photos and don’t visit them often, they are in some way or form helping you to document your life”
Just yesterday, I happened to be cleaning my computer, and I found a 3-year-old video of me and my friend Jeevan just goofing around.
There was nothing in the video except me randomly panning the camera to him and him saying “Hello”. But that 9-second video made me laugh the whole day.
It was like a time capsule, sending me down memory lane every time I looked at it.
But Documenting your life goes beyond simply feeling nostalgic. it’s more than that, it’s about:
- Understanding your journey: Just by documenting your life you get a chance to reflect back on your experiences helping you to better understand yourself and appreciate how your experiences have shaped you into who you are today.
- Foster gratitude: When you document you will often revisit your positive experiences which will boost your overall well-being and make you grateful for what you have.
- Spark creativity:Β Whether it’s through writing, photography, journaling, or any other medium, documenting your life will open your doors to creativity.
So How should you document your life?
There’s no single “right” way to document your life. You could do it by:
- Keeping a journal to write down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. or,
- Starting a blog or vlog to share your experiences and stories with a wider audience, and forming a community. or,
- Engaging in creative expression through writing, poetry, sketching, or creating artwork inspired by your experiences.
Anything would work as long as you are willing to do it.
Remember, documenting isn’t just limited to clicking photos it’s more than that it’s about the thoughts, the experiences, and the situations you were in during that moment.
What made you click that picture, What made you make that happy/sad face? As much as it is about capturing photos it’s also about capturing your thoughts.
The only thing remaining to do is to Start and Start Now.
Don’t wait for “the perfect moment” to begin documenting your life. Every experience, no matter how ordinary, adds to the unique story of you.
With that, I wish you all the best in your journey to document your life.
